Findlay Creek Farmstead welcomes volunteers who want to help with animals, visitors, grounds, gardens, Farmstead projects, events, and our growing community.
Choose from flexible daily drop-ins, Wednesday Volunteer Day, official Saturday and Sunday event volunteering, or our High School Volunteer Hours program.
Flexible Volunteering
You do not need to volunteer every week. Choose the dates and opportunities that work with your schedule.
No Experience Required
Previous farm, gardening, or animal experience is not required for most opportunities. Instructions are provided based on the activity you are helping with.
Hands-On Community Experience
Volunteer around animals, visitors, gardens, events, outdoor spaces, Farmstead projects, and community activities.

Volunteer WednesdayVolunteer during our official Saturday Farmstead event. Opportunities may include animals, visitor assistance, parking, admissions, concessions, floating support, and other event needs.
Volunteer SaturdayHelp during our official Sunday Farmstead event. Volunteer assignments are based on available positions and the needs of the Farmstead that week.
Volunteer SundayHigh school students can apply to complete required community involvement hours at Findlay Creek Farmstead while helping with appropriate Farmstead, animal, visitor, grounds, and event activities.

Review Volunteer TermsDaily Drop-In Volunteering
Daily drop-ins provide flexibility for volunteers who would like to help outside of our regular Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday schedule.
When completing the Daily Drop-In form, select:
- The day you would like to volunteer
- Your anticipated arrival time
- Your anticipated departure time
Arrival and departure times are estimates. We ask for them so the Farmstead has an idea of who is expected on-site and approximately when volunteers will be available.
Daily drop-ins are subject to Farmstead availability. Please submit your planned day and times through the Daily Drop-In form so the Farmstead team knows to expect you.
Wednesday Volunteer Day
Wednesday is our primary open volunteer day from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Arrive anytime during the volunteer window. You may stay for one hour, several hours, or for the full volunteer period.
When you arrive, check in with the Farmstead team and you will be directed toward an available task or area where help is needed.
Saturday & Sunday Event Volunteering
Saturday and Sunday are official public Farmstead event days from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Volunteers may receive specific assignments based on that day’s needs, including animal areas, visitor assistance, parking, admissions, concessions, Farmstead monitoring, or general floating support.
Submit your availability for the upcoming Saturday event.
Saturday AvailabilityHigh School Community Involvement Hours
Findlay Creek Farmstead offers volunteer opportunities for high school students working toward their required community involvement hours.
Students can gain hands-on experience while helping with appropriate Farmstead activities, animals, visitor areas, grounds, events, cleanup, organizing, and seasonal projects.
How Volunteering Works
- Choose the volunteer opportunity that works best for you.
- Complete the appropriate registration or availability form.
- For a Daily Drop-In, select your date, anticipated arrival time, and anticipated departure time.
- For Saturday or Sunday events, submit your availability for that specific event day.
- Bring suitable outdoor clothing, boots, a water bottle, and weather-appropriate items.
- Check in with the Farmstead team when you arrive and receive your instructions or assignment.

Volunteers should only complete tasks they are comfortable performing safely and should ask a Farmstead team member whenever they are unsure.
By participating, volunteers are expected to follow Farmstead instructions, safety requirements, and applicable Volunteer Terms .
